What is the HTC EVO 4G?

The HTC EVO 4G Android smartphone is the first 3G/4G-capable phone and is launching on Sprint's network on June 4th. Unlike any other phone available on any other network in the USA, the HTC EVO can connect to Sprint's nationwide 3G network as well as the uber-fast 4G network (available in about 30 cities now, with more launching each quarter). Besides being able to surf the web at 3G or 4G speeds on the phone, the EVO also has an optional mobile hotspot feature - for $29.99/month, you can turn your EVO into a 3G/4G hotspot that allows up to 8 WiFi-enabled devices connect to the internet (like a MiFi or Overdrive)! Best of all, the mobile hotspot feature provides unlimited 3G and 4G access (unlike mobile broadband devices, which cap the 3G usage at 5GB/month). You can read more about the EVO in our EVO FAQ or join the discussion in the EVO Forums.

How can I order the EVO 4G from 3Gstore?

Simply fill out the order form at to order your HTC EVO with Sprint service. AT&T Will Lose iPhone Exclusivity & Raise ETF To Keep iPhone Customers

Starting June 1st, AT&T will be raising their early termination fees from $175 to $325 for smartphones such as the iPhone and "LaptopConnect" devices such as aircards and notebooks with built-in 3G modems. While this won't affect customers who are already in a contract with AT&T, it will affect all new 2 year contracts starting 6/1/2010. It seems that AT&T is making this move to persuade their iPhone customers from jumping ship to a carrier with superior 3G coverage such as Verizon who is expected to finally get the iPhone sometime this year. While there is no official statement saying that Verizon will be getting the iPhone this year, the rumors are starting to have more weight with AT&T raising the ETF for new iPhone contracts.

It's a mystery why AT&T is also raising the early termination fees for their "LaptopConnect" devices, their service for aircards and embedded 3G modems in notebooks. You would think they would be lowering their prices to entice new customers to sign up for their service. Not too many people are interested in using AT&T's 3G mobile broadband service as they only have 3G coverage in 1/5 of the areas that Verizon does. If you are looking to sign up for new mobile broadband service, there has never been a better time as is offering a new Verizon lease plan that offers no contract, no cancellation fees of any kind, and is only $49.95/mo! Verizon MiFi for iPad: Perfect Alternative to AT&T's Service!

On April 30th, Apple launched the 3G version of the super-popular iPad. The 3G version allows you to use AT&T's 3G network to access the internet on the go and use apps that require internet access (for $30/month). Of course, subscribing to AT&T's 3G service isn't the only way to get your iPad online - last week we published an article on how to use Verizon 3G MiFi with the iPad for greater speed, coverage, and flexibility. Why rely on AT&T's network or constantly search for available WiFi networks when you can use Verizon's superior mobile broadband network AND provide internet access to up to five devices (instead of just your iPad)?

Since the release of the 3G iPad, we've heard some reports that make using AT&T's mobile broadband service for iPad internet connectivity an even worse idea than we'd thought...
