Nokia Releases 808 Pureview in the U.S.
During my weekly tech browsing I came across a new product that blew my mind. Even though it was announced back in February, I just became aware of a new Nokia phone. Already released overseas, the Nokia 808 Pureview should now be coming to the U.S. this week. According to the news on this phone it looks as though AT&T and T-Mobile are going to get their hands on it first. What’s most impressive about this phone, or perhaps I should say camera, is the 41 megapixel camera sensor with Carl Zeiss Optics. Even more impressive is the zoom capability and the 1080p video recording. With the Pureview technology pixels are combined to make a more pure pixel, which virtually eliminates any noise and literally revolutionizes the camera phone.
Although, I feel this is more a camera with a phone feature, it still has some of the usual and some new exciting features. Here are just a few of the specs I noticed: HDMI and DLNA outputs, NFC and WiFi technology, 16GB of built in memory (expandable up to 48GB), Corning Gorilla Glass, AMOLED screen, WEP/WPA/WPA2 and 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, USB 2.0, Bluetooth 3.0 with Stereo audio, etc. With all these features and the fancy camera there’s no surprise this phone will be selling for around $699.99, but at that price why not buy yourself a DSLR camera and a regular ol’ smartphone instead?
