T-Mobile users average 1.3GB of data per month

Customers on T-Mobiles upgraded HSPA+ 42Mbps network are averaging 1.3GB per month, which is almost double the 760MB per month the overall smartphone user base uses. This highlights the fact that when users have faster speeds they'll use more data, and according to Chetan Sharma Consulting, about 30 percent of U.S. smartphone users consume more than 1GB of data per month. T-Mobile CTO Neville Ray states that video accounts for about 50 percent of T-Mobiles HSPA+ traffic. At this time T-Mobile offers HSPA+ 42Mbps in 185 markets covering 184 million subscribers and most are seeing average speeds around 8Mbps.
