Virgin Mobile to Offer iPhone

According to The Wall Street Journal Sprint's prepaid division Virgin Mobile will soon be offering the Apple iPhone as soon as July 1. This move is driven by Sprint's commitment to purchase $15.5 billion worth of iPhones over a four year period. There hasn't been an announcement of the pricing yet, but it will likely be much cheaper than post paid service through larger carriers like Verizon and AT&T. At this time Sprint claims their network covers 278 million people and this should give Virgin Mobile the prepaid iPhone edge over Leap Wireless and Cricket, who both recently announced a prepaid iPhone too.
