Smartphone Hotspots and Jetpacks banned from Olympics

If you're gearing up for the 2012 Olympics in London be aware that there is a rather long list of new devices that have been banned from the games. In addition to previous bans personal access points through your smartphone or MiFi/Jetpack hotspot, and will be forbidden at the London Olympic events and venues. Olympic attendees will still be able to use devices like their iPhones, iPads, Android phones and tablets, you just can’t turn them into a hotspot to share Internet connectivity with multiple devices. In addition to this, they’re also banning larger broadcast equipment that exceeds 30 cm in length, including tripods and monopods.
