Today AT&T announced 4G LTE will be available in nine new cities across the country. The new markets include: Anchorage, Alaska; Bakersfield, California; Bridgeport, Connecticut; Jacksonville, Florida; Modesto, California; North Montgomery County, Maryland; Syracuse, New York; Omaha, Nebraska; and Northern New Jersey. This brings their LTE market total to 53, which is better, but nowhere close to Verizon’s 337 4G LTE markets. With the iPhone 5 or “New iPhone” just around the corner AT&T is feeling the heat and stated that they plan to launch 40 more markets with LTE by the end of the year. With a large difference in LTE coverage it will be interesting to see how many people jump from AT&T to Verizon for the LTE iPhone.
