T-Mobile pulls iPhone images from marketing campaign

It’s unknown if it was Apple or competitor AT&T pulling the strings but T-Mobile has recently pulled their unlocked iPhone campaign. T-Mobile is one of the few carriers that doesn’t carry the iPhone directly and rather than hide that fact they’ve decided to market it and encourage iPhone users to bring their unlocked iPhone to T-Mobiles network. In addition to the ads they’ve also been refarming spectrum to run 4G HSPA+ within the 1900Mhz band so customers can still enjoy faster data speeds when moving from AT&T to T-Mobile.

Typically T-Mobile deploys 4G HSPA+ on the 1700/2100Mhz bands, which aren’t compatible with most phones you’ll find on AT&T. This move alone could be enough for some to switch to T-Mobiles cheaper plans if you find yourself in a good coverage area. Luckily if you’ve got spotty T-Mobile coverage and need a little boost Wilson recently announced their new Wilson Sleek 4G-C designed to boost 1700/2100Mhz frequencies. Just be sure to verify if T-Mobile is using 1700/2100Mhz in your area or if its been changed to utilize the newer 1900Mhz HSPA+ network.
