Verizon Wireless shows 50% of traffic is 4G LTE now

Over the last quarter Verizon Wireless added 72% or 2.2 million post paid customers. One of the main contributing factors that have caused subscriber numbers to rise is their rapid 4G LTE deployment now that 50% of all wireless data is run over the 4G LTE network. Most users that use EVDO only are now being regulated to prepaid options giving customers incentives to move to a post paid service to have access to the latest generation network. Right now Verizon offers 4G LTE in 480 cities across the country offering speeds around 5-12Mbps downstream and 2-5Mbps upstream. In addition to traditional phone subscribers 3Gstore has seen a substantial increase in customers that are using Verizon’s 4G LTE network as a backup network in the event their main Cable or DSL connection goes down.
