Today Peplink announced firmware build 5.4.9 available for Peplink Balance and their Pepwave Max lineup. The latest build features new SpeedFusion functionality to enhance performance and diagnostic tools to tweak your WAN links for optimal performance. This includes a new lowest latency mode and manual mapping for SpeedFusion support. In addition to these enhancements they’ve also increased overall system stability, local DNS proxy stability and fixed a client bandwidth usage display issue. Important notes - SpeedFusion Site to Site VPN v5.4 is backwards compatible with firmware 5.2/5.3 and it’s recommended to upgrade all equipment to v5.4 for the best performance. The 5.4 build firmware will also be using TCP port 32015 and UDP port 4500 (Firmware v5.2/5.3 used TCP port 32015 and UDP port 32015).
