We are using the Sleek with a Pantech UML290 modem. I knew the Sleek doesn't hold onto the modem before I ordered it, but I also knew it can be made to work by rubber-banding the modem into the device. Wilson gives you several extra sets of arms (they must break easily), so it's too bad one set can't have an inward angle to them to hold the Pantech and similar modems in place. We are using the Sleek in a motor home with a Wilson RV antenna on the roof. We are currently in a Verizon weak signal area. While I know the Seek can't amplify a signal that isn't there to begin with, I was hoping for a little more improvement than we got. The Sleek increases the signal strength to the Pantech only about 12 to 15 dB, which is only a couple of dB more than the Wilson RV antenna alone. When I tested the Sleek with our smartphone (Samsung Galaxy S3), the signal strength only went up one bar. Tech Support at the 3G Store suggested putting the Pantech modem into the Sleek with the logo facing inward because the antenna of the Pantech is the cross arm, which is on the front. That helped raise the signal strength a few more dB, but now I can't see if the blue light on the modem is lit indicating it is connected to Verizon. Overall, the Sleek does provide some improvement in signal strength, but it can't work miracles. IMO, it's real advantage is with a phone or other device that doesn't have a jack for an external antenna.
