Apple LTE-A iPhone may come to South Korea

According to Engadget insiders at SK Telecom say their company is in talks with Apple to bring a South Korean version of the “upcoming iPhone 5S” and it may include LTE-Advanced. The Korea Times says both parties are in the middle of negotiations stating Apple wasn’t against the idea of having a faster wireless radio in their next iPhone. If the next iPhone receives an LTE-A radio it could more than double the download throughput by carrier aggregation technology that pushes downloads over multiple radio channels at the same time. It’s also possible that if the iPhone 5S gets LTE-A they’ll likely be using a Qualcomm modem instead of Snapdragon processors typically found on Android phones.
