Android Rules Everywhere except in the USA

The past quarter has been a very good one for Android and IDC now estimates that Google’s mobile platform accounted for nearly 80% of all smartphones shipped in Q2 2013.

But there’s one place where iOS has been stubbornly resilient and has kept Android largely at bay: In the United States.

ComScore’s previous such survey showed that Android had 52.4% of about 141 million users. This amounts to 73.88 million Android devices in use. It also means that Android usage in the US went down for the first time.
