T-Mobile changing customers off grandfathered plans

T-Mobile has started to send letters out to long time T-Mobile customers that have been grandfathered on plans that are no longer offered. The letter indicates that they’ll soon be migrated over to their new pricing plans. The typical rate package appears to be $45/mo for a select value unlimited voice, text with unlimited 4G data for $45/mo. This plan sounds like a great affordable option, but existing grandfathered users were paying a fraction of the cost for their existing service. According to T-Mobile having multiple rate plans can confuse customers and this simplifies things because someone may talk about a plan that is no longer available confusing a potential T-Mobile customer.
