T-Mobile to offer free data roaming to 100 countries

T-Mobile has recently announced “un-carrier 3.0 event”, which will allow customers free data/text roaming to more than 100 countries. Until now all carriers charged very expensive rates to use devices internationally increasing the appeal of unlocking phones. However, with T-Mobile’s new plan customers will not have to worry about expensive international rates anymore and will have data access at EDGE speeds (128-200Kbps roughly). This move technically gives them more overall coverage than both Verizon and AT&T combined when you factor in all the countries where service will be available. The new program called Simple Choice will go into effect on 10/31/2013 and give customers unlimited data and texting and affordable voice at 20 cents per minute.
