T-Mobile Uncarrier Phase 4, may pay your ETF to switch

Over the last 6 months T-Mobile has been quite disruptive to the larger carriers like Verizon and AT&T by introducing easy upgrade paths and free international data roaming. In a recent tweet John Legere says “Time to eliminate another customer pain point? Time for Uncarrier 4? Yes it’s time! Stay tuned… Happy New Year”. Other sources indicate that this statement is regarding their plan to give families a large credit if they switch over to T-Mobile from another carrier. The credit amount should be up to $350 and geared for families with up to 5 lines with existing contracts. Customers would receive a credit when they trade their smartphone in and get the ETF credit after they submit their final bill to T-Mobile. Uncarrier Phase 4 is rumored to be announced on January 8th at CES, which will occur long before Sprint or Dish start bidding to acquire them.
