Verizon heads for the clouds

Verizon Wireless rolled out The Verizon Cloud, a new backup and storage service that lets customers sync their smartphones and tablets to Verizon's servers. Verizon Cloud offers 500MB of storage for free, or 125GB of storage for $9.99 per month. Verizon says the free option should be enough to backup settings, calls, messages, and contacts.

Verizon is also pitching Verizon Cloud as an easy way for customers to sync settings/content between devices when upgrading or switching phones.

500mb for Free?

Customers do have other Free options which can sync their smartphones and tablets such as:

iCloud 5GB Free =  Need to sign up from the Apple Device
