weBoost RV 4G amplifier kit coming soon

http://3gstore.com/product/6198_weboost-rv-4g-kit-470201.html

Later this summer, weBoost will release the RV 4G (470201), a kit geared towards RV users who want to cover more area than the 3-10' area vehicle kits like the Drive 4G-X are capable of covering. The RV 4G will use the same amplifier used in the Home 4G kit, but with a DC power supply and a suction mount for the panel antenna for easy installation outside the RV.

The RV 4G will surely be popular for RVers who want to cover their entire large RV, but it will ONLY be suitable for use while stationary (not only because of the directional antenna, but because non-vehicle amplifiers are not FCC-approved for mobile use). Users who wish to boost signal while in motion will need to stick with the Drive 4G-X or 4G-M.

You can see the full specs of the RV 4G and sign up to be notified when it's available at 3Gstore

Great product - shame it's no longer in production. Verizon doesn't make it easy to acquire a new SIM card and data plan (most representatives don't seem to know anything beyond the latest products they're pushing) but eventually found the right person and got things sorted.

FCC to Fine AT&T $100M for Throttling Unlimited Data Subscribers

It seems as long as cellular providers offer unlimited data service, there’s always going to be a question of whether your service is going to be throttled at some point. In today’s news, the spotlight has turned on AT&T. Just earlier, the FCC announced that it will be fining AT&T $100 million for throttling data speeds for customers with unlimited data plans. In its formal announcement, the FCC said AT&T “deprived consumers of sufficient information to make informed choices about their broadband service” which hurt competition. This also outlines unlimited data plans offered by AT&T in June 2007 that ended up being discontinued in 2010.

In short, the FCC is claiming that AT&T misled their customers into paying for unlimited data, but failed to properly disclose their policies on speed throttling, which violates the Open Internet Transparency Rule. The complaint, which is “based on the seriousness of AT&T’s apparent violations,” is requiring the carrier to adjust their practices to meet the Open Internet Transparency Rule.

AT&T had implemented a Maximum Bit Rate Policy to subscribers after offering them the ability to renew unlimited data plans WITHOUT properly disclosing the restriction. They continued to advertise “grandfathered” unlimited data plans to customers, but would significantly lower their data speeds once the customer reached a certain amount of data usage for the month.

AT&T is of course convinced they’ve met the FCC’s requirements, releasing this statement: “We will vigorously dispute the FCC’s assertions. The FCC has specifically identified this practice as a legitimate and reasonable way to manage network resources for the benefit of all customers, and has known for years that all of the major carriers use it. We have been fully transparent with our customers, providing notice in multiple ways and going well beyond the FCC’s disclosure requirements.” The carrier also directed attention to a detailed filing with the FCC from earlier this year, which discloses its Maximum Bit Rate Program’s rollout and implementation.

I am unhappy that I need it but delighted that my IP switch is detecting and resolving my DSL modem reliability problem. The product was shipped quickly and performs as expected. 3GStore reached out to me quickly to ensure I was happy with the transaction (thanks Kevin!). This is a company I would definitely do business with in future and would recommend to anyone needing products like theirs.

weBoost Drive 4G-X in Stock at 3Gstore

weBoost Drive 4G-X in Stock at 3Gstore

weboost_instock.jpg
The long awaited, much anticipated, weBoost Drive 4G-X 50db 5-Band Mobile Repeater Kit (470510) is now in stock at 3Gstore!
In case you missed it, in January of 2015 Wilson Electronics re branded their amplifier line as weBoost. With this name change came a number of new product announcements. A great deal of these were simply re branded Wilson components with updated packaging and aesthetics, but there were a few stand outs that caught our attention. One of those products was the weBoost Drive 4G-X.
weboost_drive_4g-x.png
Visually identical to the weBoost Drive 4G-M, the -X model was announced with a superior ability to pick up signals from distant cell towers. While the 4G-M does do exactly what it is supposed to, users that are in very weak cell areas like RVers, needed more. With the FCC limiting amplifiers maximum power, the 4G-X will still follow those strict rules while providing even more connectivity where it is needed most.
The weBoost Drive 4G-X is sold as a complete kit and includes the amplifier, power supply, exterior, and interior antenna. The way this kit works is very straight forward. The external antenna is a magnetic mount and sits on the roof of your vehicle. From there a cable runs to the amplifier which plugs into 12V power. You then have a second antenna you place inside the vehicle which pushes out the amplified signal to phones, hotspots, or any other cellular device within its range. The coverage area is 3-10' from the interior antenna depending on the outside signal strength. This is the same as the 4G-M. Remember the 4G-X isn't about giving you more inside range, its about a superior ability to bring in that signal in the first place.
weboost_drive_4g-x_box.png
The weBoost Drive 4G-X is a 5 band amplifier meaning it works on all major US carriers including:
  • Verizon 2G/3G/4G LTE/AWS
  • Sprint 2G/3G/4G LTE
  • AT&T 2G/3G/4G/LTE
The weBoost Drive 4G-X is available now at 3Gstore for just $479.99 . Not sure if an amplifier is the right choice for you? Contact the experts at 3Gstore and we'll discuss your unique situation and come up with a solution that will work best for you.
